Hosts Near North Montessori and Rogers Park Montessori Schools invite parents and students 7th Grade and higher to attend a screening of the feature documentary I'm Not Racist...Am I? Wednesday, February 10, 2016 | 5:30 pm at Near North Montessori School (1434 W. Division Chicago). The 90 minute film focuses on how this next generation is going to confront racism. The screening will be followed by a discussion facilitated by the filmmaker. Parents are encouraged to attend alone, with friends and family, or with students that are of an appropriate maturity/age.

Nightviews presents An Evening with Kevin Young, Monday, May 2nd, at 7:00 pm. Kevin, a professor of Creative Writing and English at Emory University, is widely regarded as one of the leading poets of his generation, once who finds meaning and inspiration in African-American music, particularly the blues, and in the bittersweet history of black America. In addition to the October 17th and April 30th Open House dates, La Lumiere, a coed day and boarding high school located in La Porte, IN, offers campus tours from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Tuesday through Friday during the months of October - February. Located in Evanston, Roycemore invites prospective families to hear from school leadership in large and small group settings, tour the building, meet teachers, parents and students, see demonstrations of some school activities and more. Come for the Fall Admissions Open House, Sunday, November 1 or have coffee in an informal setting on one of several Admissions Mornings. Note that the first and third Tuesdays of the month are reserved for families interested in grades K-8 at Baker and the second and fourth Tuesdays for families interested in 2s, Pre-K (3s & 4s) and JK (4s). tours begin at 9:00 a.m. and last 45 minutes - 1 hour.
